55th Founding Anniversary

After the cheer dance competition

Before our founder’s week began we, senior high students only, had our intramurals for one day. Our department was divided by three team (blue, red and yellow teams). Well I’m really not into sports since I’m not a sporty person but still I’m a good cheerer. I will just watch the competitions and cheer for my team.
We started our founder’s week with a parade and after that we had the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2017 and in the afternoon, the hip hop and interpretative dancing competition. After the parade, we are all waiting for the Mr. and Ms. Intrams. Many students were really excited to know who will be crowned as the Mr. and Ms. Intrams. In the afternoon we witness the hip hop and interpretative dancing competitions. I’m really excited for the hip hop, I’m excited to watch and support them. Each group of dancers in hip hop and interpretative has its unique performances and I know that the judges are having their hard time to judge every performance. In the end in hip hop dancing completion, I never failed to believe in them, the 2 groups in our department won as the champion and the 2nd placer. In interpretative even though our department wasn’t the 1st placer but I know that they’ve done really well and I’m proud of them. After all the competitions, we still had our practice for the cheer dancing competition.
Last September 29, 2017, in the afternoon, there was a dance sports and speech choir competition. I was there to support my friends since they chose speech choir but I failed to watch their performance because I’m too late. I just watched the dance sports. And after that we had our practice again since it’s the last day before the day of the cheer dance.

September 30, 2017, this is the day for our final performance. Among all the events I chose cheer dance competition since I already had an experience in it when I was in grade 10. In our cheer dance I was one of the cheerleaders and at the same time I’m also the flier. Before our performance I felt a little nervous but I manage to help myself to feel at ease. After our performance I had mixed feelings, but happiness overcomes all the negative feelings. I wasn’t really expecting that we’ll won. At the time that they’re announcing the winners, I even told myself “It’s okay, no matter what happens it’s okay”. I even had a thought that it’s either the junior or the college will won. But as they announced the 3rd placer was the junior high, I was like wow I thought we will be the last place in this competition and after what I heard I was sure that the college department will be the champion. But I was shock and I even had a late reaction when the emcee announced that we are the champion. I was really so happy. We were all so happy for the result.
Last October 1, 2017, in the afternoon, we watched the stylized cultural dancing and the singing contest. I never wanted to miss the performance of my brother in stylized cultural dancing competition and I’m also there to support my friends.
We had a motorcade last Oct. 2, 2017. I’m was Gwyn and Brangel in that moment. We really had fun during the motorcade we were too noisy singing our song made by us lol. In the afternoon we witnessed the dance palabas.
In October 3, 2017, we attend the Transitus, the highlight of our founders. Throughout the years of being in here in Saint Francis Ccollege – Guihulngan, I never failed to attend this special event. It feels really nice that the Franciscans gather themselves to be in this event.

On the day of our fiesta, October4, 2017, we had our Concelebrates Mass and the blessing of the pets. In the morning I was with my friends, we were singing in the karaoke and have fun with them. After, we had lunch in the Padua Hall. In the afternoon, we also play bingo social. After the bingo social, since bingo social is our last event for our founders  and we still want to make the most of it we decided to watch the Mr. and Ms. Saint Francis School – La Libertad.
Even though we don’t have late night parties or night events but at least we had fun together.
Our founders always help us to be united with all the Franciscans since we are divided by our departments. It feels good to be reminded that we are always one as Franciscans. All thanks to our patron Saint, Saint Francis of Assisi, we were gathered because him, to our Lord God for guiding us always and to our director, staffs, teachers who made our founders week possible. Thank you.
